Gail SonnenbergFormer U.S. Postal Service Senior Vice President of SalesGail Sonnenberg is a 28-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service and a recognized management consultant with expertise in mail logistics. During her USPS career, Gail directed some of the postal system's greatest recent successes. As USPS Senior Vice President of Sales, Gail created a single business unit within the system to serve business accounts. The unit is accountable for $50 billion in commercial revenue and employs 1,500 sales and service professionals. As Vice President of Human Resources, Gail managed compensation, training, benefits, organization design and testing for the 800,000-plus workforce and is credited with establishing "pay for performance." She also served as Vice President of Marketing Systems with oversight of domestic product design and pricing. In 1994, Gail led a team of economists, attorneys and cost statisticians who devised the new rate-setting process that halted cyclical rate leaps and laid the groundwork to overhaul the product offering. This classification reform is heralded as the first major step toward commercially oriented pricing for USPS. Gail served on the USPS Advertising Board, overseeing event marketing and sponsorships, including the USPS Pro Cycling team and the addition of Lance Armstrong. She is a former board member of SmartMail, Inc., the U.S. Department of Agriculture Graduate School and the USA Equestrian Association. She studied at the University of Maryland, the Darden School at the University of Virginia and completed the Advanced Management program at Duke's Fuqua School of Business. |
